Hello everyone,

I'm Andrew Smith and I'm working for the University of Hertfordshire undertaking some research for them and AMT (Action for Market towns) a registered charity and membership organisation helping to renew and regenerate England's towns.

Over the past month I have been popping in and out of businesses, around the town centre of Harpenden and in talks with many residents and visitors of the town collecting a range of insightful and vital information. All this information will be included in the Harpenden's Benchmarking Report which measures the town's performance on a range of scales and indicators.

The key part which you can help with is a short Town Centre User Survey, where we can find out what you think of the town, it's shops, activities, appearance and give you recommendations of how to improve it. We would greatly appreciate it if you have a minute to complete the survey here; and give you views and suggestions, and if you do have any other questions please contact me at sa3andy@gmail.com.

I look forward to hearing your opinions and suggestions.

I know that the mayor would be really interested in the outcome of this as would the Harpenden Independent Retailers Group (you can contact them through the Harpenden Directory)

Good luck with the research and please keep us updated with the results.

If you need anything else pelase email me harpenden@thelocalpeople.co.uk
