How's Harpenden Hotting Up For The World Cup?

How’s Harpenden hotting up for the World Cup? Well the tournament itself might be taking place 6,000 miles away but that won’t stop us, the town’s sports fans, professing to know more about who should be in the squad than Fabio Capello himself. But where will Harpenden’s armchair pundits or pub-positioned coaches be watching?

The FIFA World Cup spotted at The Harpenden Carnival
The Harpenden Beer Festival is set to incorporate the England vs USA game on a big screen at The Public Halls as the team kick off their campaign on 12th June. But are there others in Harpenden rolling out the big screen in support of our national game? And what are the pubs up to? The Old **** is already adorned with England flags, but who else has got a TV warming up for the big occassion?
With the opening game taking place in just over two week’s time, it’s probably time to start thinking about where you are going to be watching. Here’s the schedule for England's first three matches to help you with your plans:
19:30 on Saturday 12th June vs the USA
19:30 on Friday 18th June vs Algeria
15:00 on Wednesday 23rd vs Slovenia
Let us know what you're up to and where. And Harpenden Landlords and Pub Managers if you are planning something special for The World Cup, please share it with the people of Harpenden right here. C’mon Harpenden!
