Wheathampstead's Golden Elephant is a great Thai restaurant which is set back on Wheathampstead High Street. You enter the restaurant via a little courtyard area; once inside mind your head as the building is full of beams (and character!) The service was very good with attentive staff; and for a Tuesday the restaurant was busy. Our starter of the squid was stunning- fresh squid, cooked to perfection in a light batter and served steaming hot. And the mains didn't disappoint either- the curry was flavoursome, the noodles and rice well cooked and the Tofu (which is notoriously difficult to cook) was full of flavour and texture. So, if you like Thai food give this little Wheathampstead restaurant a try!
