Excellent Food And Not Overpriced

We tried their pizzas the other day and they were the best we have had in the area for a long time. The side salad was good too. The only thing that prevents me giving 5 *s is that at times you were aware you were in a pub and not a restaurant.

The George, Harpenden, has great pizza!

Had a lovely pizza in the George, Harpenden, last night...although it was difficult to choose due to the vast amount of different (and unusual!) toppings!!! Also, if you have kids, they have a children's pizza or £1.99...we're definitely going to give it a try as it is much cheaper and a more relaxed setting than Pizza Express!

The burgers were also good; the only negative was that they got our order slightly wrong (there were six of us eating), but if they WROTE THE ORDERS DOWN it would make it much easier to remember!!!

The George, Harpenden, is much improved!

Visited the George last night for the first time since thei rrecent revamp...not much had changed inside (although the toilets were better!), but the food was much improved and reasonably priced. The pizza was good as was the burger.

Hated it

Food was terrible - I waited half an hour for a chicken and bacon sandwich and chips. The beers are overpriced... £4.10 for a peroni which was warm and cloudy... Do they clean their lines?! The bar itself is full of yobs. And on top of that, water was piling out of the celing.

DEFINATELT WILL NOT BE GOING BACK IN A HURRY!

A pub to remember

The George in Harpenden is a great place to gather with friends, you can easily watch a football games and enjoy the cold beers or their fine wines. You can also take the most of their lovely breakfast or their fabulous food. The George has free Wi-Fi if you want to catch up online or just want to have a little browse; all of this is wrapped with a very tranquil atmosphere.

i have not been to the george for a while now, but it used to be a great place to go for a few drinks with a group of friends.

the benefits of the pool tables mean you tend to stay longer than usual and drink more than usual, but this is a good thing.

I always have a good time in The George - they have my favourite white wine and it's a great place to take friends.
