International Superstar comes to Harpenden

Fabián Pérez, one of the worlds most sought after artists, is flying into London from Los Angeles to be a guest of honour at The Lemongrove Gallery, Harpenden on Friday 6th May between 6.00pm and 8.00pm.

Fabián Perez will be joining The Lemongrove Gallery, High Street Harpenden, for a Champagne reception to celebrate the launch of his new collection which is inspired by life after dark in Buenos Aires.  I have already had a look at some of his work and have been really impressed by what I have seen- his paintings really are beautiful!

If you haven’t heard of Fabián Perez, here is a little bit of background information about him (it’s important to know as his past has played a massive role in his works of art.)

Fabián had an Argentinean upbringing which provided him with an unconventional view of life; this has contributed to his unique style of artwork. His parents played a huge part in his creative development.  He drew inspiration from his mother’s creative drive and his father’s unorthodox and often difficult life.  Fabián spent much of his childhood in his father’s clubs (which were regularly closed down) and the young artist was constantly exposed to beautiful women who could seduce a man “simply by lighting a cigarette”. Today we see these “ladies of the night” portrayed in many of Fabián’s paintings – they are memories of his youth and the nightlife he observed.

Despite his formidable reputation in the art world, his warm personality has made him a favourite with collectors. He is always happy to sign artwork or pose for photographs.
