Harpenden Writers meet monthly to read and review their work and also host talks from professional writers, publishers and editors as part of an entertaining and educational event programme.
On Friday 5th April, Brad Ashton will be speaking on 'Writing For Comedians'. Ashton has been writing one-liners and sketches for household names for over half a century; Groucho Marx, Tommy Cooper, Les Dawson and Bob Monkhouse to name but a few. Ashton began writing during his National Service, when he was stationed at RAF Hendon, He has published two books, 'How To Write Comedy' and 'The Funny Thing About Writing Comedy'.
His talk will be held at The Friends' Meeting House, 12 Southdown Road, Harpenden, from 10am – 12 noon. This meeting is open to Non-Members for a £5 attendance fee.
