Harpenden Film Society starts it new season tonight (apologies for the lateness of this post). Tonight's film is "Salmon Fishing on the Yemen" – the story of a sheik's dream to bring fly fishing to the desert. I found the book far more absorbing than the cover suggested. The film is showing at 08:00 at the Public Halls tonight. If you come earlier you can enjoy a drink in the Foyer.
On the 1st February the society have a charity showing of "The Best Marigold Hotel" that proved very popular last year. Tickets are £10 but include wine and nibbles. Proceeds are going to MacMillan Cancer Trust.
