I think many of Harpenden's pub goers will now boycott the beer festival in support of their locals. Let the pubs that are there for us day in day out benefit from The World Cup. CAMRA's decision to put a big screen in will do more harm than good for the rep of real ale. It's lager for me and I'll be drinking it in the pub when I watch England play. I've watched a few England games in the Old Cock and have to agree that it's a great place to soak up the atmosphere of a big game.

The pubs will have a much better atmosphere than any beer festival could ever have. who really wants to sit in a hall watchin the game when there are plenty of pubs in Harpenden to watch it in! I think most if not all will be showin it, and heard the Cock will now be providing the biggest screen. I agree with the above comment that it'll be a great place to get the real feelin for the World Cup, I often go there with my family and enjoy the general atmosphere so can imagine when England are playin it'll be electric! Back your local pubs, they're be the best place to watch it!!! COME ON ENGLAND!!!!
