Glad to see the White Horse has been bought and hopefully saved from dilapidation. Apparently, although a chain, each of their pubs is run individually so guests don't know it is part of a chain.
I hope this project at the White Horse is a success, following recent failures. Hopefully they have taken on board why others have failed. Looking forward to giving it a try!!
Having had the misfortune to "eat" at the White Horse once, I can confirm that, if the new owners follow some simple rules, they could succeed:
* wipe the tables between customers - tacky, stained tables are not nice to eat at!
* cook the food and serve it quickly enough so that the food is still hot when it reaches the table.
* When you say you are serving 'sticky Thai rice', actually serve sticky Thai rice - this doesn't mean squeeze as much normal rice into a mould so that it congeles and sticks together.
* employ staff that want to be there, that have washed their hands, and that listen to customers' orders so they get it right first time, not third!
I think, with such a great location, it could be a great restaurant, and I wish the new owners luck!
