What concerns me is that when the ticket machines on the London bound side are either not working or have enormous queues (er, most days?) I often run over the bridge to a working machine. How will people do this when the gates are installed? I cant see myself or others running down and and under the Station Road bridge and up again in my quest to find an operative machine.
Shame FCC haven't spent the money on reliable ticket machines first!
regarding the new gates in harpo, harpo is as overcrowded as london ,it sounds like a first capital connect project ready to fail if you ask me, the pathway is too small , taxi rank will be disturbed, no room for disabled travelers,or push chairs, i can understand cracking down on fraudsters butwhy didnt they plan it further up into the carpark were theres plenty of room...
i hope the new gates and ticket machines will mean the end of a job for the increasingly moody, bad tempered and downright rude guy in the ticket office! No need for further description, if you use the station to purchase a ticket or make an enquiry you know who he is!!
