GOOD NEWS FOR THE LEA PRIMARY SCHOOL- Pay for play
A Hertfordshire county councillor has helped a nursery provide outdoor play equipment for its pupils.
Bernard Lloyd (Harpenden North East) allocated The Lea Primary School and Nursery in Harpenden £2,000 from his locality budget for a range of hard-wearing equipment that can be used in all weathers, including tables, chairs, ride-on vehicles, play houses, sand and water trays and giant outdoor games.
Cllr Lloyd said: "The Lea School works hard to provide a good education for all its pupils and has agreed to take more children than usual into the reception class in September. This grant will provide valuable and much needed extra resources."
Locality budgets were launched in July 2009, with funding to be used for worthy social, economic or environmental causes in Hertfordshire. For information on how to apply for funding under the scheme, visit http://tinyurl.com/pjf and type 'locality budgets' into the search box.
