Apparantly 2 new restaurants are coming to Harpenden. Zizzis and Loch Fyne are rumoured to be opening on Leighton Green (where the old Harpenden Electricals was).- can anyone confirm this? Does Harpenden really need anymore restaurants?

Yet another Italian restaurant! Does Harpenden really need any more?! And the George has been refurbished and is now a pizzeria, just 2 doors along from Pizza Express! What Harpenden is lacking is a Mexican restaurant (and 'No', Billy's serving some mexican dishes and cocktails does not count!)

There are a lot of Italians in Harpenden...Zizzis obviously didn't do their research! Let's hope that the White Horse doesn't follow suit when it re opens in May (although I wouldn't hold out for it being a Mexican!)

You can never have enough Italian restaurants, and I think there is plenty of punters to fill them all too. My wife should open a mexican restaurant as her grub is the best.

As opposed to Harpenden being a gorgeous, quaint English village/town with original shops and local businesses, it is fast becoming a place full of restaurants and salons!

Also - what it is with wanting to change our pubs in to restaurant bars?? I dread to think how the Inn on the Green is going to fare!! They are no longer a true British pub but neither are they a restaurant!! In any case, without Mick and Jackie, it certainly has a colder feel to it already!!

I agree that we don't need any more restaurants, especially Italian ones, but I do admit that I'd go to a Mexican restaurant if they opened one!
