Hertfordshire Highways have been looking at ways to improve bus stop facilities in Redbourn Lane, Harpenden and are beginning works to implement the following measures:
-
Roadworks in Harpenden expected to cause delays
- Upgrade to existing Bus Stop waiting areas
- Provision of new easy access kerbs
- Improving footway access to bus stop
- Repainting of road markings
The works are due to start on the Monday 9th January 2012 between 9.30am and 16.30pm (Mondays to Friday) and are expected to last up to 5 days.
Temporary traffic management with signs and temporary traffic lights will be in operation during the work in order to provide a safe working environment for the gang on site. Hertfordshire Highways are warning drivers that it is likely that this will cause disruption to traffic and journeys may take longer as a result.
Advance warning signs will be provided prior to the works starting and the Highways Agency are ensuring commuters that efforts will be made to minimise disruption to the public.
What do you think about the work? Is it needed or are there other transport related areas which would benefit more from the funding?
