If you haven't already stocked up on your salt, de icers

and snow shovels and you still need to dig out the children's sledge you have a

few hours left!  We are expecting snow in

Harpenden this evening (from 7pm); between 5 and 10 cm could fall overnight!

Most parts of the UK are due to see heavy snow later,

bringing disruption to roads, rail and air travel.  Forecasters are predicting 5-10cm (up to 4in)

of snow in central, eastern and south-east England, including London, with the

heaviest falls expected after dusk.

The Met

Office has issued more than a dozen severe weather warnings, spreading

across much of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

There will be travel disruptions expected tonight and tomorrow (BAA has

cancelled one-third of Sunday's flights from Heathrow Airport); and with

temperatures set stay cold, people will need to make sure they leave plenty of

time for journeys.  A list of websites containing

information on school closures and local travel disruptions is available here

We will aim to keep you up to date on here, so make sure you bookmark the

page!
