A charity that helps people who have suffered loss through road collisions in Hertfordshire can extend their services thanks to a local county councillor.

Councillor Teressa Heritage, (Harpenden South West) has allocated £250 from her locality budget to The Road Victims Trust. The trust will use the money to help towards the cost of providing support families living in Harpeneden  who have suffered loss as a result of a road collision.

The support offered is free to those who need it and includes regular counselling sessions and one to one help. The trust has been working with Hertfordshire residents since 2010 having first launched their service in Bedfordshire in 1995.

A total of £10,000 is available to each of the 77 members of Hertfordshire County Council to spend on community projects in their area. Locality budgets were launched in July 2009, with funding to be used for worthy social, economic or environmental causes in Hertfordshire.
